Fare Pasifika Language Classes
Fare Pasifika offers Pacific Islands Language Classes at the University of Washington, Seattle campus, including Native Hawai’ian, Maori, Samoan, and Tongan, and are always adding more languages by request. Courses last anywhere from 3-10 weeks and require no background in linguistics on Pacific Island culture. Courses are held at the Burke Museum.
These courses are available to anyone and everyone who is interested in learning an indigenous language of the Pacific. The courses are based on cultural affinity and personal interest and are not for credit. There’s no commitment required, this is just about creating a safe space for people to come together, to learn about, build on our indigenous languages, and cultures of the Pacific and the Americas.
